Fiona was surrendered to our open door shelter by a compassionate owner who loved her very much but said Fiona was not responding to training and they didn’t want her going to the auction. The owners assumed Fiona was a Hinny because of her markings.

Upon intake Fiona had a halter on and it appeared as if the halter had been on for quite some time. Thankfully our facilities allowed us to get close enough to her to remove the halter that was a risk to her safety. After observing her behavior and her coloring we noticed similarities with Przewalski so we researched and made a shocking discovery.

Lazy B Equine Rescue and Sanctuary is committed to the welfare of all equines, which is why we are ensuring Fiona receives the best possible care while she is with us. We are also in the process of determining her genetics through DNA testing. Once we have the results, we can better understand her future and explore the possibility of reuniting her with her own kind.
